CAREER SUMMARY

A diverse, results oriented, career spanning over twenty five years in geographically, geologically, and technically broad areas.  Specific strengths include: working with integrated teams to generate and drill exploration prospects, strong background in geology to generate creative solutions to seismic interpretation and processing; knowledge of seismic velocities to better image data as well as infer rock properties; ability to communicate complex, technical concepts to managers and partners; familiarity with a large number of software packages and the ability to learn other software quickly; and capable of  integrating well with people of many personality types, either in integrated teams or individually.

EXPERIENCE

WaveGuide Geophysical, Inc.  Houston, Texas.               Consultant                        1992 – Present

·         Worked with many clients helping to generate and map prospects,  evaluated leads and brought prospects to the market.  Also worked on development projects.

·         Identified demand for a regional velocity volume in the deepwater Gulf of Mexico.  Negotiated the marketing concept with TGS-Nopec.  Conducted extensive technical interpretations using Seisbase III software to build the Velocity volume.  Final product was utilized by more than a dozen major and independent oil companies to improve their interpretation of prospects in the deep water Gulf of Mexico.

·         Designed and managed a successful 3D seismic acquisition and processing program over two producing fields in transition zone Louisiana.  Survey greatly increased companies understanding of the field and allowed them to sell the fields at an increased valuation.

·         Projects have included acquisition of data, processing quality control and interpretation, as well as presenting interpretation to prospective partners and buyers.

Geco-Prakla, Houston, Texas                                                Processing Supervisor                    1990 – 1992

·         Suggested improvements to Geco-Prakla velocity software which were incorporated into first versions of interactive program.  Managed processing for clients.

TGS Offshore Geophysical Company, Houston, Texas.   Processing Manager                      1987 – 1990

·         Managed  seismic processing quality control group for TGS-NOPEC.  This group covered all aspects for seismic processing from input data to final outputs.

Placid Oil Company, Dallas, Texas                                   District Geophysicist                          1978 – 1987

·         Coordinated work, identified leads, and mapped prospects in Mississippi Canyon, Ewing Bank, Green Canyon, Garden Banks, and East Breaks, resulting in company leasing over 100 blocks in the Deep water Gulf of Mexico.  Company made three deepwater discoveries before selling their deepwater inventory to Exxon.

·         Interpreted seismic and generated Wilcox gas prospect in Waller Co. Texas.  This prospect was drilled, resulting in a gas discovery.

·         Led team of geophysicists in generating prospects and mapping Gulf of Mexico for OCS Leasing.  Placid succeeded in acquiring many of these blocks.  This team also worked on exploitation of existing fields and was successful in extending production.

·         Designed and handled on site management of 2D seismic acquisition program for three concession areas in Turkey covering 1200 square miles. Company generated at least six large prospects from the seismic.

·         Planned and executed successful 2D seismic acquisition program over 100 square miles in Rocky Mountain Over-thrust play.  This play had been difficult to image and seismic program enabled company to better evaluate their acreage position, saving millions in drilling costs.

·         Identified need for a high resolution seismic survey to delineate shallow gas production in offshore Gulf of Mexico. This survey revealed a complex shallow gas sand deposit with several reservoirs. Sands were not developed due to low gas prices and complexity of development.

·         Interpreted seismic data in North Sea and found large prospect from structure and HCI information.  Interpreted concession in Red Sea as part of a joint venture.  Interpretation better fit geology of area and resulted in company leaving joint venture.  Prospect was later drilled and proven non-productive.

Amoco Production Company, New Orleans, Louisiana    Geophysicists                                 1975 – 1978

·         Part of a team that developed and patented an early tomographic method to measure seismic amplitudes.  Effort preceded common application of tomographic methods in solving seismic velocity and imaging problems.
